A behind-the-scenes photoshoot documenting scenic set construction for film, TV, events and commercial projects
The345 is a Bristol-based scenic construction company specialising in bespoke sets for film, television, events and commercial projects. With a talented collective of builders and designers, they bring creativity, technical skill and experience to every project. This photoshoot aimed to showcase the scale of their work, the craftsmanship involved, and the people who make it all happen, providing a visual insight into the company’s expertise and dynamic workshop environments.
I worked with The345, a Bristol-based scenic construction company, to produce a documentary-style photoshoot capturing their team, workspace and creative process. The345 is a collective of experienced scenic builders specialising in the construction of bespoke sets for film, television, events and commercial projects, and the aim of the shoot was to reflect the scale, skill and craft behind their work.
The photoshoot took place across four working warehouses, each housing active set builds for different productions. Rather than staging scenes, the focus was on photographing people at work in their natural environment, documenting the construction process as it happened. This approach allowed the imagery to feel authentic and grounded, highlighting both the technical precision and collaborative nature of the team.
The photographs capture a mix of wide environmental shots and closer details, showing materials, tools and hands-on craftsmanship alongside the builders themselves. Attention was given to the atmosphere of the spaces, from large-scale structures in progress to quieter moments of concentration, helping to convey the physicality and complexity of scenic construction.
The resulting image set provides The345 with a versatile library of visuals suitable for use across their website, promotional materials and social media. The photography presents the company as experienced, capable and professional, while also emphasising the human element behind the builds. Overall, the project focuses on honest visual storytelling, offering a clear insight into how The345 operates and the level of expertise involved in their work.
