Brand Identity Design
Creative Swansea is a network founded by Swansea Council in 2024. South Wales is an area densely populated by creative businesses, freelancers and organisations alike. The Creative Swansea Network aims to unite these separate entities, streamlining opportunities, funding and support to those who need it most. Alice Jones Design Studio was approached by Swansea Council to develop a vibrant brand identity for this exciting new network.
The Creative Swansea logo mark is made up of a bold colour palette, accompanied by playful typography. The logo exists in the space between corporate and grass-roots. The Creative Swansea logo is designed to be used within a horizontal layout, however, the logo also works well within a vertical, stacked composition. Due to its unique properties, the Creative Swansea logo design has a flexible format depending on the background colour in use.
Made up of seven hues, the Creative Swansea colour palette derives from the ambition to find a unique combination of colours that reflects the energy and optimism of the creative sectors in Swansea.
Brand iconography was created in tandem with the overall brand development. These were designed to be used as an added decorative element on brand assets, lending a touch more character to a design while enhancing the Creative Swansea brand.
Mundial is the single font used across the Creative Swansea brand identity. This is a font that is packed with character and creative flair, while having
a universal appeal. This contemporary typeface offers a wide spectrum of weights, making it versatile and adaptive, for use on a huge range of Creative Swansea design collateral.
The consummation of this medley of vibrant colour, clean typography and geometric form is a brand identity that is dynamic and modern,
with a timeless quality that will appeal to a wide spectrum of creative practitioners.
